On ‘Disco’ the first single from their debut album ‘Idyll Intangible’, Navvy take on favourite teen activity dancing. Far from being a celebration of cutting loose - ‘Disco’ is instead a somewhat troubled tale of an outsider looking in. Whilst a pounding bass drum and synth are perfect noisy, shouty, throwaway fun and the song is highly dancable and catchy, it is totally wrongfooted by the lyrics, making it a perfect introduction to Navvy’s unusual and beguilingly choppy sound.

Excellent hyperactive synth-pop from Shefield. 'Disco' is full of spiky rhythms and shouty interventions, a sharp mash of the Fire Engines, the Fall and Franz Ferdinand. A very promising trailer for the forthcoming Idyll Intangible album.
